Background Screening Process

DeLaire's Nanny Agency screens its candidates rigorously with a Comprehensive Screening Process which includes:

• Submission of a 12 page application form

• Thorough two-part interview including phone and face-to-face meetings with Shey DeLaire

• Comprehensive reference check of professional references

• Criminal background check

• Department of motor vehicle check

• Drug screening

• Social Security check (permanent placement only)

• Adult personality test (permanent placement only)

• Orientation of our policies, procedures, and process

 

Candidates must also:

• Have minimum 2 years of recent relevant professional experience

• Speak fluent English

• Have proof of citizenship or evidence that they may legally work in the US

• Have valid and clean driver's license with reliable transportation

• Be at least 18 years of age

 

Our Fees

DeLaire's Nanny Agency offers two membership categories: Temporary and Permanent.

Temporary membership is for individuals and families with occasional child care needs, while permanent membership is for those looking for a regular scheduled Nanny for at least one year.

 

Temporary Placement Program Rates

• Membership Fee $100

• Annual Fee $100

• Agency Fee (placement booked with at least 48 hours' notice) $20/day for families $35/day for hotels

• Agency Fee (placement booked with less than 48 hours' notice) $30/day for families $45/day for hotels

• Agency Fee (Holidays) $45/day for families $55/day for hotels

 

$100 membership fee does not apply for hotel services

 

Permanent Placement Program Rates

• Application Fee (one-time fee) $195

• Live-Out Agency Fee $100/week or Buy Out option of 12% of employee's annual salary

• Live-In Agency Fee $125/week or Buy Out option of 13% of employee's annual salary

 

Helpful Information

The rates below detail the average amount you will be expected to pay your nanny:

• Full Time (Live-Out) $350-600/week

• Full Time (Live-In) $325-500/week

• Part Time $10-13/hour

• Overnights $50/evening

• Tutoring $25/hour

• Nanny Share $350-500/week

• Hotel Services $12-17/hour

 

Note: For live-in positions, figure an additional cost of $50/week in utilities and food.

 

Other Factors

• A nanny who brings her child with her generally charges 25% less

• NC minimum wage is $7.25 per hour

• Housekeeping duties are generally paid extra

• These charges are in GROSS wages (before taxes)

• You negotiate the wages and payment method directly with the caregiver
